The Silk Road (from http://yalun.files.wordpress.com/2008/08/silk-road1.gif),
This week’s post is over the silk road. This early trade network, linking the Roman and later Byzantine network to China through Iran was one of the primary means of communication available at the time. It allowed for the spread of ideas and technology across the world and allowed Iran to be the home of several powerful empires over hundreds of years. This network is one of  the earliest and longest cases of globalization in the ancient world. It also became the basis for much of the modern world as many roads around today follow that same path.
